PROPERTIES OF THE WOOD: Of the physical Properties of the wood, the more important for the user is the Density . But when the wood is dried below 30% the cellular walls become rigid. Therefore when selling or buying the wood , their humidity should be specified to know what can be expected from the mechanical point of view. Another property is the Contraction and it is important from the point of view of its use. All wood that dries off, contracts, causing a decrease of its dimensions, which makes that the wood twists and cracks. The contraction is expressed as a percentage of the dimensions in green state. |
